I created a Movie Presentation with snapshots of the Studio Press WordPress Themes that I installed on this Blog. As I’ve settled this Blog on the Album Theme, I wanted something to quickly remember what the other Themes looked like. They’re still on the Blog. I just don’t have to activate and deactivate them anymore to see what they look like.

I also wanted to test out the strength of my new MacBook Pro. Working with lots of images and movies takes a good processor. So this gave me the perfect opportunity to find time to put images in a show. And I was pleased with MacBook Pro.

Google Analytics is a great service from Google. Once you set up your account, Google will monitor your Blog and offer you tons of Statistics. You will see the geographical region of your visitors, how much time they spent on your Blog, and so much more. But just like Widgets and Plugins, Statistics are addictive. Other great statistics are generated with the WP-Stats Plugin.

In order to get statistics on your Blog, you need a self-hosted Blog.

I bought the Studio Press WordPress Themes to test them out and customize them for clients. I installed the Themes on this blog and tested each one, and I like them. So far, 2 have been customized for clients and you will see them soon.

To give you an idea of what the Themes look like, I’ve screen-captured each of the Themes with Studio Press and you will see these images as you scroll throught the posts on this Blog.

Studio Press WordPress Themes are easy to install and customize. They are well coded and professional. They are somewhat traditional in structure but can be customized to suit your needs.

Installing Plugins on your WordPress Blog can be addictive. There are so many to choose from and developers are always coming up with some new ones that enhance your Blog. Plugins add functions and applications to your Blog. Some of them will manage your Blog. Others will add Widgets to your Blog. If you can think about it, there’s most likely a Plugin for it.

Widgets are small applications that you install in the columns and footer of your Blog to give it various functionalities. You need a self-hosted blog to add Widgets to your Blog. You can add as many as you like by installing Plugins. But be careful, it can become addictive and there’s no cure.

Every WordPress installation offers basic Widgets such as: Recent Posts, Recent Comments, Categories, Pages, Keywords, Pages, Blogroll. Hundreds of other Widgets can be installed with WordPress Plugins, such as Flickr, Twitter, Delicious, RSS. If you see something that you like on a blog, there’s a change that it is a Widget that was installed with a Plugin.

How to add an Image in a WordPress Blog

Adding an image in a WordPress blog is as easy as inserting an image in any application. Simply follow these easy steps in this video (in French).

To add an image in a post on your WordPress Blog, follow these easy steps:

1. Go to your Dashboard, and click on Posts or Add New Post.

2. Click on the Image icon.

3. Click on Select files and choose a file from your computer, or Click on From URL and paste in the URL of the image you want to use.

5. Click on Insert into Post.

6. Click on Update Post.

That’s it.

How to add a Video in a WordPress Blog

Inserting a Video is easy. Click on Add Video (icon above in Upload/Insert), Then go to YouTube, Vimeo, DailyMotion, or any other Video that gives you the EMBED option. Copy the EMBED code, then come back to your post, and insert the Code in the HTML of your Post, not the Visual. Publish your Post. That’s it!
